The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to design and develop frameworks for continuous integration, deployment, and delivery of SoftWriters products on public cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to guide projects from inception to completion.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement, maintain, and evolve public cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) hosted software products and services
  • Set up, plan, and configure cloud solution environments for internal and external use
  • Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, secure, and fault-tolerant systems
  • Migrate existing on-premises applications to public cloud infrastructure
  • Identify and implement best practices for cloud deployment and operations
  • Estimate cloud usage costs and implement cost-control mechanisms
  • Write automation code, perform code reviews, unit tests, and documentation
  • Configure access and security; manage application performance monitoring
  • Integrate cloud-hosted applications with external customer and third-party systems
  • Research and analyze optimal architecture and design decisions
  • Improve cloud application security and provide expert guidance
  • Create proof-of-concept prototypes
  • Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 7+ years of software application deployment experience (cloud or on-premise)
  • 7+ years of experience with automated build/deployment systems
  • Expert-level programming experience (.NET, C#, Bash, Python, Java)
  • Deep knowledge of SQL, web technologies, and scripting
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and SDLC
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins/Bamboo) and frameworks (Ant, Maven)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Strong Microsoft Azure experience

Required Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative attitude
  • Experience with containerization and API services
  • Hands-on experience with cloud monitoring and alerting tools
  • Proven experience with CI/CD processes on cloud

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Jenkins plugins and job management
  • Integration of cloud services with on-premise technologies
  • Knowledge of IT compliance and risk management (SOX, HIPAA)
  • Familiarity with multiple OS platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS)
  • Automation experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Mobile build and test automation experience (iOS, Android)
